1998, 2000, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014: Romania
New Song Church began partnering with Radio SOS and iHelp Ministries in 1996. The team works out of Radio SOS, a radio station International Help Ministries (a charitable division of NSC) started up in the early 1990’s. Geof and Sharon Glidden headed up teams made up of various young adults over the years. They poured into various ministries including churches and orphanage, helping bring JOY to the kids.
Three of our Junior Youth (Quinton Mischuk, Keri Patton & Josh Brandes) went with Global Expeditions to Lima, Peru. They left out of Texas after a week of group training and were in Peru for 2 weeks.
We sent three of our young people to Guyana. They joined several others from Freeway Church (now Red Hill Church) in Milton, Ontario to work with a church based in Georgetown, Guyana – helping them in all and any areas they were in need. We sent several duffle bags of shoes down with the team, thank you for supporting the Cinderella Project, it’s amazing how shoes can change a life!
2008: South Africa
Team 91:1… “HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].”
Five teenagers from New Song Church along with Pastor Shannon, met up with 15 others from Southlands Church in California and spent 3 weeks with churches in and around Durban, South Africa. They worked into KwaZulu Natal which has the highest population of those infected with HIV/AIDS in the world. Team 91:1 (Africa ’08) worked in 2 HIV/AIDS effected orphanages, painting their bathrooms and other buildings, built fences to protect gardens and loved on the children. They did a major grocery shopping day and packed bags to feed 50 families and 100 blankets for children out through the programs offered at Victory Faith Church in Pinetown, SA. The group was introduced to some incredible people who have opened their homes to orphans, abused women, HIV/AIDS patients and more. They handed out groceries and prayed for the sick in the township of Embo. They saw some incredible miracles as some who were lame – began to walk! The hand of God worked mightily through Team 91:1 (Africa ’08).
WILL YOU GO WHERE HE SENDS YOU?!!
